What we do & Why
As the owner of It's a Breeze Property Pty Ltd, Bertram Daniel has always had a goal and an intention of giving back to the community.
So, whether it is supporting orphans in Sri Lanka, advocating maternal and infant health care in Indonesia or giving young Australian adults with cancer a voice, Bertram Daniel is there at the forefront.
Bertram has experienced a great deal of success in his life. His real estate business It's a Breeze continues to go from strength to strength with even more exciting things to come, including a land development project in Mernda and a wellness spa planned in Bali.
With his business taking up so much of his time, it would be easy for Bertram to lose sight of the other side of life.
It would be easy for him to become consumed by business success and forget about a work-life balance, or giving back to the community that has helped provide him with so much.
But when you meet Bertram you realise that will never be the case.
The cornerstone of Bertram's success is a balanced life. He believes that to truly achieve your dreams, live a 'real' life and create a genuine legacy you must have balance; a balance between business and community, a balance between business success and personal growth.
Bertram strongly believes in the old adage - you reap what you sow. He says "if you sow weeds you will get weeds back".
It is with this in mind that he and the It's a Breeze Foundation launched the Eye Ball Community back in 2010.
The purpose of the Community is simple - to bring like-minded small to medium businesses together to not only support each other in their quest for personal and business success but just as importantly to give back to the very communities that have helped them so much.
Putting together the Eye Ball Community has been no mean feat. To start a new business community from a simple idea and turn into a reality takes a great deal of motivation, persistence and commitment.
But challenges are something that Bertram thrives on, and despite all of the hard work and personal sacrifices he has made, he and the rest of the Community remain as committed as ever to the Eye Ball Community, to its philosophies and ideals and most importantly to its goal of making a real difference in the community.
Bertram knew when he started this project it was not going to be easy to establish a long-lasting successful community.
Just like any successful business it takes time to to build trust, to build contacts, and to build a reputation.
That is why Bertram has made a 10-year commitment to the Eye Ball Community - a genuine commitment to see this fantastic group come together, thrive and truly make a difference.
Last year the Eye Ball Community supported the Fred Hollows Foundation and its work with Australia's Indigenous communities.
This year it is supporting the Warwick Foundation and its fantastic work with young Australian adults battling cancer.
Bertram is passionate about helping as many members of the community as he can, and that is why the Eye Ball Community looks to support different organisations every year.
Bertram is also passionate about supporting all of the communities that have supported him. That is why he not only supports Australian organisations, but is also involved in the East Bali Poverty Project in Indonesia and an orphanage in Sri Lanka.
The East Bali Poverty Project provides maternal and childcare in one of the poorest areas of Indonesia.
This project not only provides women with the medical support they need whilst pregnant, but just as importantly, basic medical treatment for their infants once they are born.
It is all about providing the basic care pregnant women and mothers in Australia simply take for granted.
Bertram was keen to be involved in this work in Bali as he is also developing business interests in the region with plans for a new wellness spa.
Equally he supports an orphanage in Sri Lanka, the home of his birth. To hear him tell the tales of horror that some of these children have experienced during Sri Lanka's 30-year war and the aftermath is heartbreaking.
It is easy to see why Bertram is so passionate about supporting these children and helping them to have a better chance in life.
In fact Bertram's passion for everything he does is infectious. To hear him talk about his business interests or community work, you cannot help but want to be involved.
And it is just this sort of passion from he and many others, that he hopes will help the Eye Ball Community to continue to grow and prosper, this year and beyond.
